[Obituary] Prof. Em. H. Tamon

Professor Emeritus Hajime Tamon passed away on the 31st of March in 2023 at the age of 71 years old. He was appointed assistant professor of the Department in 1977, was promoted to associate professor in 1986, and was promoted to a full professor in 1998.

He also served as the president of the Japan Society of Adsorption and the vice president of the Society of Separation Process Engineers, Japan, the vice president of the Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan, and others. He has been awarded by the Societies mentioned above.

Professor Tamon retired from Kyoto University in 2017. He was entitled Professor Emeritus of Kyoto University on his retirement.
